Bolivia Martha Perez Ramirez

STUDIES

I completed a major in Physics and obtained a Master's degree in Humanities from universities in Mexico and have actively participated at various conferences and courses related to Sciences and Education. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Teaching, further deepening my academic and professional expertise in the field of education. I hold a TESL certification from IH Vancouver and a TESOL certificate from ISS Language and Career College of BC. I have made studies in Education with a focus on Math and Spanish at UBC. I am certified to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language by ELE Internacional from Spain and I am a DELE exam-certified examiner for all levels by Instituto Cervantes. I have also attended Spanish teacher training workshops in Spain and Mexico. I speak French and speak and teach Italian.

I have been a Spanish teacher for more than 10 years both in person and online to students of all ages. I have been hired by elementary and secondary schools and by several language schools in Vancouver and Toronto. I have taught groups at universities, mining companies, community centres, and conversation clubs. I am currently teaching online to students in different cities, mainly in Canada, the United States, and China.

I have combined my own experience as a learner of other languages with the strategies learned at courses and workshops, into my teaching. I am aware of my students’ preferences and individual learning styles, and I provide them with the best approach to learning Spanish.

Having an excellent knowledge of the Spanish language helps me teach in a very simple, fun, and clear manner. I go directly to the point. I understand how important time is to my students, so I make every class an opportunity to improve quickly.
